One of my favourite areas in New York City is the Meatpacking District. With its warehouses, old brick-buildings, cobbled streets and fabulous Highline Park it is a must-go-to area.

My favourite restaurant in the Meatpacking District is an Italian place, called Macelleria which means butcher in Italian, fitting seeing the location. You can eat large steaks that have been specially dryed for a couple of years or have a lovely pasta or risotto dish. We love the ragú here, which is authentic Italian meat (like a stew) served on pasta. But leave room for dessert because the cheesecake is just delicious.

You can sit outside and see all the hipsters and fashionista’s pass-by. Or sit inside, the basement area has such a warm atmosphere that you’ll simply lose track of time.

Coolhunting, a blog which always has some very interesting posts, comes with some outstanding videos on their website. One that really caught our attention was the one about Roy. Roy is a denim master from Oakland whose obsession with making jeans has driven his small business into the mind of denim heads everywhere. In this video you will see Roy's machine driven approach in creating his jeans, the birth of his business and how his obsessive attention to detail results in some of the toughest looking denim around.

We want to share this beautiful English brand. Founded on two simple concepts, English Tailoring and British Anarchy. Casey-Hayford follows a tradition loyal to the dresscode inaugurated in the 1800's which borrowed elements from military uniforms and sports clothing, intuitions that contributed to defining the modern westerm suit that the refined English label has used and given a style of its own.

Quoted from their website:

"All men possess elements of anarchy within their character. Anarchy is not about the total absence of rules, but rather the significance of autonomy. The Casely-Hayford ethos represents a unique expression of freedom created when conformity threatens identity, or convention restricts spontaneity; we fuse this expression of the free spirit with the very particular gestures of English sartorialism. The House aims to distil a multitude of ideas into a simple pure entity: innovation through tradition."

This application for the iPad makes drawing, sketching, concepting, en scribbeling a lot more fun. And besides the fun, it looks way beyond awesome!

Fifthy Three, the company behind this application, state on their website: "our best ideas merge with real pencils and paper" and I agree with that. They tried to make sketching on your iPad just as real as back in the "old" days. With optional in-app purchases you can expand your range of pencils and colors.

Take a look at their video and you can download the application here. Let your inner artist make his comeback on your iPad.
