LILIPEP IN BARCELONA

Getting yourself lost in the tiny streets of Barcelona’s El Born neighbourhood isn’t necessarily a bad thing. On the contrary, you just might stumble across a charming little café called Lilipep, lovingly run by a Catalan–German couple.

While you are more than welcome sit back and grab one of the many books on the shelves and enjoy a moment of tranquility or let your mind wander as you take in the great selection of art and photography adorning the walls, you really should go for their authentic German breakfast which is the main attraction here. There is plenty of other great food on offer too and best of all, it’s all organic and homemade.

But whether it’s the German breakfast, the lovely homemade cakes or the great ambiance, you’ll leave Lilipep knowing that you’ll want to come back sometime soon. C/ Pou de la Cadena,
808003 Barcelona

CAFE ZURICH

Are you looking for an international place for a drink with a view? Cafe Zurich is the place to be. At Placa Catalunya, tourists and locals come together for a drink or a sandwich. From the inside it looks like a brown cafe where they serve small cakes, pies and local sandwiches. The terrace is a lovely place for having a refreshment while looking at the people walking by. The waiters are all dressed up in formal work suits, speak Spanish/Catalan and English, and are pleased to tell you about other hotspots in town. Every time I visit Barcelona I go there at least once during my stay, to feel the international atmosphere and the Spanish kindness. Cafe Zurich Placa de Catalunya, 108002 Barcelona.
